Church Adds 500 with Chick Tracts. Here is a great testimony of how a church increased their church membership via an orderly, planned distribution of some great gospel tracts that get read better than perhaps all others, because they are in little comic book forms. The devil uses this same method to increase his numbers so why should not the Church?
Our Father Knows
I do not know, I cannot see,
What God’s kind hand prepares for me,
Nor can my glance pierce through the haze
Which covers all my future ways;
But yet, I know that o’er it all
Rules He who notes the sparrow’s fall.
I know the hand that hath me fed,
And through the year my feet hath led;
I know the everlasting arm
That hath upheld and kept from harm.
I trust Him as my God and Guide,
And know that He will still provide.

I know not where His hand shall lead,
Through desert wastes, o’er flowery mead;
Mid tangled thicket set with thorn,
Mid gloom of night or glow of morn;
But still I know my Father’s hand
Will bring me to His goodly land.
Farewell, Old Years, with goodness crowned,
A hand divine hath set your bound
Welcome the New Years, which shall bring
Fresh blessings from my God and King.
The Old we leave without a tear,
The New we hail without a fear.
God Used Billy, the Village Drunk
by Cliff Besson, from the testimony of Major Lots Dueck of the Salvation Army
When Lieutenant Lois Dueck went to her first Salvation Army appointment, it was to the village of Hazelton on an Indian Reservation in the interior of British Columbia, in Canada. Her home there was a bit isolated from the others and so one day when two people, a man and a woman, knocked on her door at eleven (11) p. m., she was quite apprehensive and vulnerable.
The couple that came to the door had a southern United States accent. They mentioned that they had some problems and knew that the Salvation Army was good at helping people. They wanted to know if they could come in for a moment to talk with her.
Lt. Lois felt obliged to let them into her living room but she felt that something was wrong and that she herself was in danger. She of course, prayed within herself for God's help and protection while only the man talked. As they talked, Lt. Lois felt more and more that they were up to no good. She therefore, more and more, wished and prayed for God's help.
Suddenly, there was another knock at the door. This time it was now 11:30 p. m. On going to the door, Lt. Lois found that it was Billy, the village drunk. Lt. Lois was startled, as Billy had never come to her home.
Lt. Lois opened the door and he fell into her living room. She struggled to lift him up and set him on a chair. She then went back to look after the first people who came late at night to her door. They talked for a moment while Billy looked at them from his chair. They soon said that it appears that she could not help them, so they might as well go on their way.
After they left her home, Lt. Lois thought she had better get the drunk to leave next but she thought it best that they have a prayer at her couch. She therefore invited Billy to kneel down and have some prayer with her, before she would take him home. She then asked him why he had come at such a late hour to pay her a visit?
Billy said, that he had been drinking at the bar, when just after he got another glass of beer, he saw Jesus talking to him from within the glass of beer. He told him to hurry over to visit the Salvation Army officer lady because she was in danger. He therefore left the glass of beer at the bar and went out looking for her home. He had never been there before, so he wandered here and there, till he finally found it, otherwise he would have been there much sooner.
Lt. Lois therefore then phoned the police, who apparently told her that those two visitors were escaped convicts from South Carolina and that the police would soon go looking for them. From the help they got from Lt. Lois, they soon caught them.
Lt. Lois also discovered from the police as to why the woman never spoke. She was really a man dressed as a woman.
The Lieutenant also phoned the mayor of the village that night to tell her of the danger of the escaped convicts in their village and also of the amazing incident of God using Billy to help her. The mayor therefore started to come to the Salvation Army Corps (Church) and soon got saved. In the meantime, Billy the drunk started to come as well. Each time he came though, he was less and less inebriated. Finally, Billy repented of all his sins, got born again and became a new person in Christ Jesus. He was then able to become more of a blessing for Jesus every day, to the corps and to the village of Hazelton, British Columbia. Later, perhaps because of the big changes that occurred in Billy, even the chief of the Indian Reservation in that area started going to the Salvation Army. He too got saved and became a new person as well.
Is it not wonderful how God used a drunk to perhaps save the life of a young woman officer? As God was able to do that for the young Lt. Lois Dueck (now a Major, working out of the Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters in Winnipeg), so he can help you out of your troubles.
As God used an unclean vessel for his glory, he would like to even use you. It would of course be better if you became a clean holy vessel for him first, by becoming one of his disciples or dedicated followers. Why not turn your life over to that mighty saviour, Christ Jesus who died for you and I years ago, via the cruel punishment of crucifixion? Repent of your sinful ways and ask Jesus to cleanse you of all your sins too, just as the chief, the mayor, and the village drunk all did. Ask Jesus for his forgiveness, for whatever sins they might be, sins of omission or of commission. Ask him for forgiveness for not loving God with your whole heart and soul; and for not loving your neighbour as yourself. After you have been cleansed and forgiven, ask Jesus to fill you with the Holy Spirit. By this means, you will have the extra power, the desire, and the courage to be a blessing for him, as Billy and Lt. Lois have been for Jesus and his Church over these many years.
God bless you as you submit your life to Jesus.
On Sunday, August 8, 2004, during her morning message entitled "Give me Tears" at the Salvation Army East Kildonan Corps in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Major Dueck spoke on the need for a passion for souls and of God's amazing love and protection of herself, as she related the above mentioned testimony.

FEBRUARY 14TH Valentine from God
It was February 14th and it had snowed overnight, just lightly enough to see tracks of a vehicle in the snow. I looked out my bedroom window facing east, and there in the driveway someone overnight or early morning had driven in or backed up to create this most wonderful phenomenon of which when I looked, I could hardly believe my eyes because there before me and facing me there was these perfectly intertwined 2 hearts. They were so perfect and I could not see where they began or ended at the road. Just these 2 perfectly intertwined hearts.
No one has ever owned up to them and I used to keep my ears open so as a result I call them my Valentine from God. Experienced & written by Anne Mole
HEDGE OF PROTECTION
February 14th, 1964 I think is the correct year. A good female friend and I were walking back to school at lunch time. A certain guy pulled up to us in his car and asked us for a ride. My friend and I paid no attention to him. Mainly because we didn't know him. We had never met him or seen him anywhere. We just continued to enter the South door entrance at the High School.
At 4:30 that same afternoon we heard that three (3) girls had been decapitated in an accident in which a car had not stopped behind the school bus. It had continued driving and had gone under the left rear axle of the school bus. Three (3) girls had died in the guy's car. This was the same guy that had just hours previously, asked my friend and me to go driving with him.
Read in the Book of Job about the Hedge Of Protection and that is what my friend and I experienced on that day that we ignored the guy in his flashy new car.
Thank You Lord for YOUR Mighty HEDGE OF PROTECTION that was in place. Who knows how many angels were around, between the guy's car and my friend and me and our eyes. This was not something that we realized immediately. It wasn't until many years later that we had married and had our own families that we realized that this guy had asked my friend and me to go driving with him.
Again that was God's protection on us. We must not have been ready for it.
